Evidence of Pacquiao not taking Mosley lightly

Even with his busy time schedule, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, still make it to a point that he impresses everyone around him for his upcoming fight against “Sugar” Shane Mosley. Evidence that Pacquiao is not taking Mosley for granted is his efforts while doing the mitts with his trainer Freddie Roach.

During a mitts session with his 4-time trainer of the year in-front of the media a couple of days ago, Pacquiao was asking Freddie for a few more rounds. “Are you tired?” Manny asked Freddie who had a hard time slowing down his ward. Freddie had to give in to Pacquiao's request even if he is feeling tired already.

Pacman believes in Shane’s ability to knock anyone out. “He is the bigger, taller boxer. He is fast and strong and he has power in both his hands,” explained Pacquiao who is having the best training camp so far in his entire boxing career.

Mosley won only 2 of his last five fights and the other 1 was a controversial draw. Many believe that Shane has already left his prime years because of his last two fights. Pacquiao won his last 13 fights and most of them are knockouts against popular boxers including Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton and Oscar de la Hoya.

Pacquiao’s goal is to be the first pugilist to win against Mosley by stoppage. Mosley’s goal is to win against the pound-for-pound king so he will be the one to seat in his throne.

Manny is showing a good performance in his 12 round sparring against David Rodela, Ray Beltran and a couple other boxers. He says he is ready for a 12-round action but he can’t promise to win via stoppage. The humble Pacquiao only promised that he will give the people a good fight and strive to win against the three-division world champion.

Pacman is not new to breaking the improbable. Evidence is that he has won eight championships in eight different divisions, he is the first active boxer to become a congressman and he is the first Filipino to endorse Nike products - and the long-list continues.

Team Pacquiao will fly to Las Vegas this Monday afternoon and finish the training camp there. Manny will be advised to slow down a bit to avoid any physical discomfort when he fights Shane in the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight.

On May 7, the Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosley fight will be available live on pay-per-view. They will fight in-front of the 17,000 sell-out crowd in the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Veteran Kenny Bayless, referee for Pacquiao vs Mosley fight

Kenny Bayless, a veteran boxing referee, was chosen to officiate the May 7 Pacquiao vs Mosley fight. The fight between Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and former three-division world champion American “Sugar” Shane Mosley will happen atop the squared circle inside the 17,000-seating capacity, MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

The NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) executive director Keith Kizer informed Kenny Bayless that he is chosen by the group to be the third man inside the ring together with boxers Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley.

"I'm always excited when I get chosen to do a fight of this magnitude. Again, it lets me know that my work is admired and appreciated. To get this fight is an honor in a way," he said to Examiner.com.

Kenny Bayless is a professional boxing referee from Nevada best known for having refereed the superfights Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton, Oscar de la Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather, Ricky Hatton vs. Paulie Malignaggi, Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito, and Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto.

Boxingconfidential.com claims: "There’s only one referee that should be utilized in Las Vegas super-bouts and his name is Kenny Bayless. Every time I’ve seen Mr. Bayless referee a fight, I’ve seen him always control the bout with the highest degree of fairness, firmness, and accuracy."

Bayless is a recognizable face to faithful Pacquiao fans, having refereed some of the Filipino’s mega-fights. In Pacquiao’s fight versus veteran Shane Mosley, Bayless expects a good clean fight because both boxers respect each other and don’t want to mess their reputations by fighting dirty.

Kenny refused to give his predictions on the Mosley vs Pacquiao fight and just said that "I've refereed both of them many times and I know their styles. I do know they both fight clean and that's what I'm expecting. A clean fight and believe it or not, I think that's what we are going to get is a clean fight. I don't foresee any problems that are going to develop. Their styles speak for themselves when they are in the ring."

Roughly a week from now, Pacman will defend his WBO (World Boxing Organization) Welterweight Belt against Pomona native, Shane Mosley. Pacquiao got this belt from his fight against Miguel Cotto which Kenny Bayless officiated.

Mosley is sharp at training camp

American professional boxer, Shane Mosley, and his coach Naazim Richardson have expressed their confidence that they will win against Manny Pacquiao on May 7. They even believed that they will win in a knockout in the late rounds. The team has divulged their fight strategy to the public and their plan is to start punching big shots early and turn Pacquiao into a defensive fighter thus controlling the fight in the later rounds.

Mosley looks razor-sharp at his training camp in Big Bear, California a high-altitude location, 2 hours away from Los Angeles. This has been the best training camp of Shane Mosley so far and it’s like training for Oscar de la Hoya – whom Mosley got the distinction of winning twice. At his age of 39, Sugar is tagged as “old” or “at the twilight of his career” because he only won 2 of his last five fights.

Manny Pacquiao, the first active boxer to become a congressman, is also having a great training camp and he is not slowing down. He believes Mosley is a difficult opponent because of his intelligence inside the ring that comes with power and speed. People at Pacquiao’s camp including trainer Freddie Roach and conditioning coach Alex Ariza advised Manny to ease a bit because he might be pushing too hard in training for this upcoming Pacquiao vs Mosely mega-fight, which might be bad for him and cause him to lose his WBO World Boxing Organization) Welterweight Belt.

Analysts said that Mosley has power in both his hands and if Pacquiao is tagged with just one solid blow, it could be the end of the night for him. Mosley’s punches are fierce that’s why he has a higher KO rate compared to Pacquiao. His last victory, against Antonio Margarito in 2009, was very impressive.

Antonio Margarito was Pacquiao’s last foe but it took him 12 long rounds to be declared a winner but Margarito suffered a damage orbital bone and had to be rushed to the hospital after the fight.

Richardson believes that Shane Mosley will pull an upset when he fights the number 1 name in boxing today, Manny Pacquiao. They are taking away all the distractions in camp and their only focus is the fight ahead of them. On May 7 in the Mosley Pacquiao fight, they believed they will be sharper than a razor.

Pacquiao prepared for Mosley's dirty tricks, needs to slow down a bit

Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley are on the final stretch of their training camp. Both fighters have been doing almost the similar thing this week, by sparring against a variety of boxers. The upcoming Mosley vs Pacquiao mega-fight is fast approaching and many are eager to see how Mosley will slug it out against the fastest boxer in the planet, Manny Pacquiao.

Freddie Roach, the celebrated trainer of Pacquiao and the owner of Wild Card Gym, expressed his worries on the dirty tricks of Shane Mosley when Manny fights him on May 7. Roach believes that the only way for Mosley to win is by playing dirty. “He’ll get dirty, he’ll get rough but it won’t matter. That’s the only way he can win this fight,” said Roach as he was working on the mitts with his prized ward.

Freddie gave Pacquiao some situations on what Shane will do when they fight atop the ring inside the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Roach believes Mosley’s tactics is to bring Pacman to the ropes and release his barrage of heavy punches. Other dirty tricks may include head-butting, stomping on the feet and holding the arms.

But Filipino Congressman Manny Pacquiao is ready for everything. “I respect his skills, he is a good boxer. He is fast and strong, but I’m prepared for him. We will give the people a good fight,” said Pacquiao, who promoted the fight without any trash talks.

“I know what he is capable of, he is a veteran boxer and he is intelligent,” Pacquiao added.

Manny, even on the final weeks of training, continues to train hard for this upcoming Pacquiao vs Mosley fight. He does not want to take Shane Mosley lightly because he knows what he is capable of. “Anything can happen in boxing, you don’t underestimate any boxer,” explained Pacquiao.

This is why Pacquiao doesn’t want to slow down in training. “It’s hard to slow him down,” said Roach, who had to give in to Manny’s demand that they go one more round in the mitts.

This time it’s a different fight for Pacquiao, who won a congressional seat in the Philippines last year. If he loses, the whole country loses. He is known as the “People’s Champ” in the country with 7,107 islands and he is willing to do everything to make his countrymen proud of him.

“I’m not looking for a KO, but I'm prepared for 12 rounds. My only focus is to win. I will give it my all,” expressed Pacquiao.

Who is 'Sugar' Shane Mosley, Pacquiao's next opponent?

Many of the casual boxing fans don’t know who ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley really is. For the information of those who don’t know, some details of the life and career of 3-division world champion Mosley can be read below.

Shane Mosley or Shane Donte Mosley is also known as “Sugar” because his first 38 fights as a professional boxer were “sweet” and impressive. A resident of Pomona, California, Shane Mosley is already on his 17th year as a professional at present. He currently trains in Big Bear, California for his upcoming fight versus Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

Shane, a 39-year old American who was born in Los Angeles, has a current record of 46 wins (39 by KO), 6 losses, 1 draw and 1 no contest. He is 5 foot 9 inches in height and has a reach of 74 inches.

The right-handed boxer is currently trained by Naazim Richardson and managed by James Prince.

In his 54 fights, Shane Mosley fought 20 world title fights. He won 15 (12 by KO) and lost 5. He was the former WBA welterweight world champion, former WBC super welterweight world champion, former WBA super welterweight world champion, former WBC welterweight world champion with three successful defenses and former IBF lightweight world champion with eight successful defenses.

During his amateur career, Shane also brought pride to his country. He won the Gold Medal of the 1992 U.S. National Championships at 139 pounds, Gold Medal of the 1990 U.S. National Championships at 132 pounds and Gold Medal of the 1989 U.S. National Championships at 132 pounds.

Shane Mosley has a higher KO percentage than his opponent on May 7, Manny Pacquiao. He won his first 38 fights. It was only the late Vernon Forrest who stopped his winning streak in Januart 26, 2002. Six months later, they fought a rematch and lost again. He holds the distinction of being the only fighter to defeat Oscar de la Hoya – at his best - twice. Other notable wins of Shane Mosley were against Antonio Margarito (Pacquiao’s latest opponent), Ricardo Mayorga, Fernando Vargas twice and Luis Collazo.

On May 7, Mosley will turn 39 years and 8 months old. Many think that he is ready to hang his gloves after his fight with Pacquiao.

The Pacquiao vs Mosley fight will be at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The live streaming is available via Showtime PPV (pay-per-view) for only $54.95.

Post-fight party-concerts of Pacquiao

Eleven days to go before the much anticipated Pacquiao vs Mosley will happen atop the squared circle inside the MGM Grand Arena, which can accommodate 17,000 guests.

Manny Pacquiao, the first ever active boxer to hold a congressional seat, will hold a post-fight or after-fight party and concert. Win or lose against Shane Mosley, Pacman will entertain his solid fan base with his singing. “It’s fun, I like music and I like to sing,” exclaimed Pacquiao. In recent articles, Manny is scheduled to release his new single featuring Dan Hill entitled “Sometimes when we touch”. Hill is the original singer and songwriter or the 1978 hit music.

Pacquiao, an actor and effective endorser, not only prepares for his showdown versus American Shane Mosley but he is also busy rehearsing for his after-fight concerts. Yes, concerts! The MP (Manny Pacquiao) will hold a couple of shows. One will be in Las Vegas after the fight and other one will be in California on May 10. Manny told his fans that he will not only win against Shane Mosley but also deliver a solid performance during the concert.

Pacman said that after training he would to his rehearsals to practice. He wants to deliver a knockout concert for all his supporters. “This is one way of celebrating while thanking the fans for all the support and love they give to me,” said Pacquiao, who has made it a tradition to hold a post-fight party after every fight.

Pacquiao is also excited to appear for the fourth time on ABC’s late night program “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” This time it will be with Dan Hill. The solid fans of Pacquiao are hoping that he will sing his new single in the show on April 28.

Meanwhile, Shane Mosley is now on extensive training in high-altitude Big Bear, a 2 hour ride from Los Angeles. His mind is all Pacquiao and there are no distractions along the way. His focus this time is different than his two previous unimpressive fights.

Pacquiao and Mosley are set to clash on May 7 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This fight will be for the WBO Welterweight Championship at a weight limit of 147 lbs.

Conditioning coach worried that Pacquiao is pushing too hard

Many do not know Alex Ariza yet. Well, he is the strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao. His duty is to make sure Pacman is at his best physical condition all the time and especially during his forthcoming fight versus Sugar Shane Mosley.

While other strength and conditioning coach worries that their boxers don’t train hard, Manny Pacquiao and Alex Ariza is the complete opposite.

Pacman trains really hard for the fight ahead of him and he is not looking past Shane Mosley, a former three-division world champion rated at welterweight, light middleweight and middleweight. Shane is naturally big and strong. He walks about 160 lbs and continues to condition his body everyday even without a scheduled fight. Mosley last fought in September 2010 against Sergio Mora and it ended a draw. Prior to that he fought the undefeated fellow American Floyd Mayweather but lost to a unanimous decision. This time, Mosley is very hungry for a win and he believes Pacquiao is the perfect opponent for him.

Manny is a warrior and doesn’t back out from an exchange of punches. “The more you punch Manny, the more he wants to hit you back,” said Mosley. He believes that Manny is a “killer” inside the ring but they are prepared and they know how to defeat the Pacman.

Pacquiao is relentless in training. He spars 12 rounds with 4 different boxers every day. He wakes up in the morning to jog in different locations in California together with the team. Even with his extensive training, Pacquiao still found the time to record a 1970s hit together with renowned singer and songwriter Dan Hill. In fact, the single “Sometimes When We Touch”, a duet between Pacquiao and Hill will be released in a couple of days.

With all of the other things Pacquiao is doing, he still trains very hard for the upcoming Pacquiao vs Mosley mega-fight. Ariza believes Pacquiao is doing everything already and still pushing himself above the limit. But still found the time to relax and enjoy what he loves doing. Ariza is a bit worried on Pacquiao because he doesn’t want to slow down. He might suffer from muscle spasms or body malaise when he fights vs Mosley.

“Don’t worry Alex, I’m fine. I just want to ensure a win”, said Pacquiao who knows not only Ariza is concerned with his focus but also his Trainer Freddie Roach and assistant coach Buboy Fernandez. Even though Pacquiao’s ultimate target is to win by knockout against Shane Mosley, he believes “a KO will come naturally”. All in Pacquiao’s mind when he fights Shane Mosley is to win, even if it takes him 12 long rounds – because he is prepared for it.

Pacquiao not looking for a KO versus Mosley

The upcoming fight between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley is fast approaching. Twelve days to go before the clash on Saturday, May 7 at the MGM Grand Arena in the Sin City.

Pacquiao, 52 wins (38 KOs) - 3 losses - 2 draws, is not looking for a knockout in his fight against Shane Mosley, 46 wins (39 KOs) - 6 losses - 1 draw.

"I never get in the ring to look for a knockout. If you look for the knockout, you never know what will happen. I just come in there to win," Pacquiao told boxingscene.com.

Manny, a congressman in the Philippines, believes that a knockout win will come naturally. If he wins by knockout, it will be a big bonus for him and for his great number of fans.

Pacquiao wants to be the first to win a KO against Shane Mosley, who lost 6 times already, but never in a stoppage. But he does not really expect to stop Mosley when they fight. “Pacquiao knows that Shane does not have the word ‘quit’ in his dictionary,” said Pacquiao’s long-time friend and adviser Michael Koncz. "If there's a stoppage, it will probably be by a referee decision".

Everytime Pacquiao goes up the ring he only thinks of winning and giving a good fight to the many boxing fans watching all over the world. He prepares for a 12-round fight and not thinks that he can KO any opponent every time he’s out there to do his job.

Mosley on the other hand believes on Pacquiao’s capabilities and even tagged him as ‘killer’ inside the ring. Shane, a 3-division world champion, is a clever boxer who knows how to deal the punching styles of Pacquiao. Mosley believes his age is a non-factor in the fight. He is well-conditioned for a 12 round fight and even predicted he will KO Pacquiao in the middle rounds.

“I respect Shane’s boxing abilities and I never take any fighter for granted,” said Pacquiao who knows Shane is the underdog of this fight. “He is strong and fast and he has the knockout power that is packed in both his hands,” Pacquiao added.

Mosley’s trainer Naazim Richardson also insists that they will pull a Buster Douglas (vs Mike Tyson), the biggest upset in boxing’s history, on May 7.

Pacquiao’s last KO was won was against Ricky Hatton in May 2009. In November 2009, Pacquiao won against Miguel Cotto via TKO or Referee intervention. His last two fights were won via unanimous decision.

Less than two weeks from now we will see how Manny wins or how Shane pulls an upset in the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight. Bookmark this website to know the latest happenings of the upcoming mega-event.

Trial of Pacquiao's ultimate boxing foe deferred again

The hearing on a misdemeanor battery charge of American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr was postponed to September 1, 2011 by a Court in Las Vegas Justice this past Monday as reported by AFP.

Floyd Mayweather, who has an undefeated record, is Manny Pacquiao’s ultimate opponent for the #1 spot in the sport. But since the postponement happened, Floyd Mayweather can no longer settle who the real number pound-for-pound king this year is.

Floyd is charged after purportedly jabbing a 21-year-old homeowners' association security guard in the face during a disorderly fighting last November 2010 over parking tickets issued to vehicles around Floyd Mayweather's bounded-community home.

Mayweather, 33 years old, will face a $1000 fine and a maximum of 6 months in jail. The former champion was initially set to have the case hearing in February but the date was postponed to Monday. This Monday it was again postponed to a much later date.

Floyd faces additional serious lawbreaking domestic violence charges in a Thursday hearing that started from a dispute with Josie Harris, his former girlfriend and two of their children last September 9, 2010. Mayweather is charged of hitting and frightening ex-girlfriend Josie Harris, stealing her cellular phone and threatening their children.

The proceeding was cancelled to a later date because Floyd Mayweather’s lawyers wanted to have enough time to review all evidence gathered.

Mayweather’s attorneys are convinced that Floyd did not do something wrong and denied all allegations. Once pronounced or proved guilty of the charges, Mayweather will end up in prison for up to 34 years. These include charges of felony counts of grand larceny, coercion and robbery.

The casual boxing fans were hoping that Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs) would fight Congressman Manny Pacquiao later this year. A November date is already set by Arum, for Pacquiao, but there’s no final opponent yet – the list could have been Mayweather, Mosley (if he wins on May 7), Marquez, Berto and Cintron. Now, Floyd Mayweather will out of the picture for a much longer time.

On May 1, Mayweather will be out of the pound-for-pound rankings, a ranking developed by the prestigious Ring Magazine. That day will mark a year after he outclassed “Sugar” Shane Mosley in Las Vegas.

This time it will be Mosley vs Pacquiao to fight inside the squared circle in Las Vegas, after the collapsed negotiations with Mayweather’s camps and due to the legal woes the “Pretty Boy” is facing right now.

Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KO) is seeking the distinction to be the first ever boxer to win against Mosley by stoppage. Shane Mosley (46-1-1, 39 KO), who has a higher KO percentage than Pacquiao, will try to prove his critics wrong by pulling the greatest upset in the history of the sport.

The Pacquiao vs Mosley fight will be on May 7 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Click here to buy tickets to the upcoming fight.

Pacman to release new single on April 28

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, a congressman in the Philippines, is set to release his new single on April 28 worldwide. The single titled “Sometimes when we touch” is a hit music in the 1970s, sung by renowned singer and songwriter Dan Hill. Several artists have covered the song including Tina Turner, Tammy Wynette, Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow and Engelbert Humperdinck.

The new single will be a duet with Dan Hill, but the main cover of the CD will be Manny Pacquiao with a subtitle of “featuring Dan Hill”. Hill discovered Pacquiao in November 2009 when Pacquiao visited Jimmy Kimmel Show to promote the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight. Pacman sang the song and it made the popular songwriter contact his members. He then asked them to contact Pacquiao to discuss about singing together the song and making a worldwide album for him. Hill’s comment on Manny is that he is “sincere” and “honest” while he sang it.

This week Pacquiao and Hill will pay a visit to the Jimmy Kemmel Show together. Manny and Dan are expected to sing the song in the show but may surprise to sing another song. Manny hopes his new single will be a hit not only to the Filipino but to the world.

One of the notable visits of Pacman on the Jimmy Kimmel Show was with comedian Will Ferrell when they sang together John Lennon’s song - Imagine - 5 months ago. The rendition video at YouTube.com now has 1,297,091 views as of this writing.

Before the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight, Manny will release the single CD/DVD hoping that it will be a hit before he hits Shane Mosley on May 7.

Win or lose, there will be an after-fight concert and party with Manny Pacquiao’s band and it’s pretty sure the band will sing the song “Sometimes when we touch” and they may even invite Dan Hill as special guest.

Date and Time in the Philippines (Pacquiao’s Country)

In Manny Pacquiao's country, in the Philippines, the date and time of the fight is May 8 at 9:00 in the morning. The Philippines is GMT +8.

Looking back, Manny Pacquiao with his promoter Bob Arum, initially booked the MGM Grand Arena for an April 16, 2011 fight even without a sure opponent yet. When Arum flew to the Philippines to celebrate Pacquiao’s birthday he brought 3 contracts/opponents for Manny to choose, they were Juan Manuel Marquez, Andre Berto and Shane Mosley. Manny Pacquiao, obviously with the convincing power of Arum and his adviser Michael Koncz, decided to settle on Shane Mosley because he is the most popular among the three. Pacman suggested moving the date to May 7, the weekend after the Mexican’s Cinco de Mayo. This is a better date because Pacquiao had to settle his congress duties first before preparing to fight against the 3-division world champion Shane Mosley.

Kelly Pavlik hopes to win after alcohol rehab

Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32 KOs) was eyed for stardom after his sensational knockout against Jermain Taylor for the middleweight championship in 2007. His last fight, a year ago against Sergio Martinez, was a lopsided 12 round beating. Many believed a rematch against Sergio Martinez would be nice but Pavlik went back into alcohol consumption and got addicted.

He stayed for two months at the Betty Ford Clinic for alcohol abuse this year and he now feels rejuvenated after completing the rehabilitation program.

Pavlik, 29 years old, will appear in the undercard of the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight. He will be up against an undefeated fighter by the name of Alfonso Lopez (21-0, 16 KOs). Both Pavlik and Lopez have knockout power in both hands and this fight is expected to end early. Even though Pavlik has a higher fan base than his undefeated opponent, he still needs to win the fight to get more opportunities in boxing.

After his first loss to Bernard Hopkins, who also trains with Shane Mosley’s coach Naazim Richardson, Pavlik was up against less popular opponents – Marco Antonio Rubio & Miguel Angel Espino – then he fought Martinez and lost again.

When asked about his alcoholism, he answered this “I’m not one to make any excuses to say that’s what hurt my career, because I wasn’t doing it while I was training,” said Kelly Pavlik in an interview with miamiherald.com. “I can easily make it a great excuse, but in my opinion I don’t see it as that. As of now, I think the big difference is I’m able to focus more clearly on my career and take everything serious. I think that’s going to be the big difference now when compared to the past,” he added.

Pavlik, managed by Cameron Dunkin, believes that he best fights not as an undercard but a main event. He will try to prove to the boxing fans that he still has the power to win it.

“It’s definitely a second chance,” Pavlik said. “Even after being off for a year and a half, to be on the undercard is a pleasure of mine and an honor. I’m just worried about getting back in there and performing and moving on with my career.” he exclaimed.

Kelly Pavlik, is a resident of Youngstown, Ohio, United States and is also known as “The Ghost”. His stance is orthodox and he is rated at super middleweight. He boxed a total of 165 rounds and his KO percentage is 84.21.

Roach does not want to see a Pacquiao-Cintron

“Who would buy the Pacquiao-Cintron fight?” Roach exclaimed.

Kermit Cintron, (32-3-1, 28 KO) recently signed a contract with Top Rank Promotions, owned by Bob Arum. The 79 year old promoter who's been on the business for 45 years recently expressed his desire to put Kermit Cintron in line for a fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Roach disagrees because Cintron is not good for business at this time. Kermit’s fight against Paul Williams was a disaster. It ended after four rounds because Kermit literally fall out of the ropes and couldn’t move. So the fight was truncated and the scorecards were added. Paul Williams won the fight via split decision. After being laid in a stretcher, Cintron decided to continue the fight but it was too late and the judges already made their decision. Two of his losses were scored by Antonio Margarito, the last opponent of Manny Pacquiao which suffered an eye injury and had to be taken to the hospital after that fight. The draw was against Sergio Martinez, which kayoed Paul Williams in the 2nd round in late 2010.

No one would buy a Cintron vs Pacquiao fight after Manny wins against Shane Mosley. The best opponent for Manny Pacquiao would either be Juan Manuel Marquez, Floyd Mayweather, if he is available and no one else. If Shane Mosley wins on May 7, a rematch in November is compulsory. But at this time, no one thinks Shane will win, so Pacquiao must decide who to fight against.

If Arum thinks a Pacquiao vs Cintron fight will bring them good money, then let it be.But I personally don't think so.

Puerto Rican junior middleweight Kermit Cintron has an up-and-down career. It has included some nights where he surprised folks and nights where he was overwhelmed by better fighters, as stated by Scott Christ in badlefthook.com.

The Pacquiao vs Mosley fight will be at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Pacquiao will defend his WBO Welterweight Belt against Sugar Shane Mosley.

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao says goodbye to the Philippines. “I’m gonna miss daddy”, said Pacquiao’s youngest daughter.

Pacquiao will be on the last leg for his training in Los Angeles, California. After a hectic schedule in his country as a congressman, actor and endorser, Pacquiao finally flies to LAX then go his way to Hollywood, California to train at the Wild Card Gym owned by his trainer Freddie Roach.

Roach knows that the real training will be inside his gym. “This is where the real work is,” said Roach. He believes Manny’s focus on the upcoming fight will be high compared to being in the Philippines with a lot of distractions.

Shane sees his girlfriend Bella Gonzalez one last time during a sexy photoshoot before he goes to Big Bear, California to train for the biggest fight of his career. “Bottom line is this is a matter of finding the right formula,” stated Naazim Richardson, the trainer of Shane Mosley.

Follow their journey as episode 3 of fight camp 360 premieres on Saturday, April 30th. And remember it’s the ultimate showdown, Pacquiao vs Mosley on May 7, live on pay-per-view.

Mosley's coach is positive of win

Coach Naazim Richardson, the trainer of 3-division world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley, is confident to pull an upset on the Pacquiao vs Mosley upcoming battle.

“We’re in it to win it!” stated Richardson, who was very impressive when Mosley and Margarito fought each other in January 2009.

Richardson continued to train Shane Mosley for his Mayweather and Mora fights but both fights were unimposing. Actually, Mosley, a Pomona native, is showing degradation in his 5 previous fights by winning only 2.

“This is a marathon, its’ not a sprint. It’s not about who runs out the fastest. It’s gonna be who’s gonna finish up the proper way,” said Richardson in the first episode of Fight camp 360. He sounds positive that Mosley will win against Filipino Manny Pacquiao who is seemingly-unstoppable at this time of his career. Pacquiao is on a 13 winning streak with notable KO defeat against prime fighters including Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto.

Despite being the huge underdog coming into the Pacquiao-Mosley fight, trainer Richardson believes that his guy is going to pull the biggest upset in the history of boxing. They are already embarrassed of their last performances but they are very much hungry for a win. They are very thankful that the number 1 boxer in the planet gave them a chance - and they will not waste it.

Currently training in Big Bear, California, about an hour and a half ride from Los Angeles, Mosley and Richardson is confident that they are 100% for the upcoming showdown. They are sure to give a heartbreaker to the great number of Pacquiao fans and give something to enjoy to the Mosley fans – quoting that “they will shock the world”. Every day they think and train for Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion. This gave them a lot of sureness to think that they will win the fight.

Shane insisted that Pacquiao has not fought anybody similar to his skills. He is stronger, faster, bigger and most of all, he is clever. Even at his age of 39, Mosley believes that his wide experience, durability and power packed in both hands will be his main weapon.

In Hollywood, California, Manny Pacquiao is also preparing for the upcoming fight. He does not want to take Shane Mosley lightly. He knows what he is capable of and he doesn’t want to dismay the large fan base he has. He trains with Freddie inside the Wild Card Boxing Gym, together with strength and conditioning Coach Alex Ariza.

On May 7, Pacquiao and Mosley will fight for the WBO (World Boxing Organization) Welterweight Belt inside the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Long-time boxing promoter warns Pacquiao of upset win

Rex Wakee Salud, a Cebu-based promoter and a good friend of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, believes that “Sugar” Shane Mosley may be able to pull an upset on May 7 at the MGM Grand Arena. Salud, who has been a boxing promoter for 30 years said that even if Mosley is nearing his 40, you can’t discount him because he can still fight.

Shane, a heavy 7-1 underdog of the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight, is a 3-division world champion. He can punch in both hands and he is the fastest, strongest, and most clever opponent Pacquiao will face.

Salud is a bit worried on Pacquiao. Mosley might be able to pull an upset when they fight. Seeing the 2 upsets last week, and almost an upset the other week were some of the fights that can make you think that even underdogs are still in it to win it. The fight between Morales and Maidana a couple of weeks ago, made the casual boxing fans awe to the performance of the returning Erik Morales, who was the underdog. Many expected that Maidana will blow out the fight but only won it via majority decision. This past week, the favorite Juan Manuel Lopez loses to Orlando Salido via knockout and underdog Victor Ortiz won against undefeated Andre Berto. These are the 3 new examples why you shouldn’t take Shane Mosley lightly.

It’s a good thing that Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao are not taking Shane lightly. They expressed that this has been the best training camp so far. Roach said that Pacquiao will be the first to hand Mosley his KO loss. But when you ask Pacquiao, he would humbly say he will do everything to give the people a good fight.

Shane Mosley only won 2 of his last five fights. The last one, against the less known Sergio Mora, ended in a draw.

In recent interviews, Naazim Richardson, the trainer of Shane Mosley said that they will pull a Buster Douglas (vs Mike Tyson) on May 7. This will be the new greatest upset in the history of boxing.

Even though Salud believes in Manny’s skills, he still advised him to be very careful in every round especially in the first few rounds.

Prediction: Pacquiao will be the first to KO Mosley

According to many sources, they believed that Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao of the Philippines will be the first to win a knockout against “Sugar” Shane Mosley of America - I'm with them.... But here's the point.

Mosley who won his first 38 fights and most of them by KO was one of the best welterweights of his era. His winning streak only ended when he fought Vernon Forrest. 6 months later, he asked for a Vernon Forrest rematch and he lost again. After his first of two wins against Oscar dela Hoya in September 2003, he fought Winky Wright twice and lost twice.

Shane Mosley has been notable for his fights against Antonio Margarito, Luis Collazo, Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga among many others. Even with his 6 defeats, he only lost to only four different boxers including Miguel Cotto in November 2007 and Floyd Mayweather Jr in May 2010. No one has ever won against Mosley in a KO. The question is, will Pacquiao be able to KO Mosley in May?

Pacquiao is currently hailed as the best in the sport today, if not all time. He is the pound-for-pound number 1 and the only boxer to win eight different championship belts in eight different weight divisions.

I personally believed that Pacquiao will KO the 39 year old Mosley when they collide atop the ring inside the MGM Grand Arena in front of 17,000 fans watching live and millions of people watching the Showtime PPV. Pacman is just too fast and too strong vs Mosley. He has the proper trainings and conditionings that can possibly KO Shane even in the first few rounds of their fight. But my prediction is this - Shane Mosley will be kayoed in the 9th or 10th round of the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight.

Pacman does not want to do what he did to Ricky Hatton a few years back. He wants to give the people the biggest bang for their buck by pretending he can’t finish Shane early on. He will try his best to keep away from the strong hooks of the Pomona native until the late rounds where Mosley is expected to tire out. Shane is just too old for Manny, he will turn 40 years old on September 7, 2011 and his endurance to reach the 12th round is already in question. Pacman knows Mosley will be easily kayoed in the later rounds so this will be the time he will give Shane his barrage of punches and put him on the canvass.

What is your own prediction?

Even as heavy favorite, Pacman still trains as hard

Probably part of hyping the upcoming fight between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley, Pacquiao’s camp is telling everyone that they are not taking “Sugar” Shane Mosley lightly. He has been a 3-division world champion and you can expect new things coming out from his arsenal.

Everyone at Pacquiao’s camp is saying that Sugar is still "sweet" and if he can hit Pacquiao’s button in the early rounds with a solid blow, it will be a kiss on the canvass for Pacquiao. Shane can punch both right and left with more power compared to Pacquiao’s previous opponent, Antonio Margarito. Shane won against Margarito in January 2009 in a murderous 9th round KO compared it Pacquiao who finished the whole 12 rounds and winning only in scores.

Pacquiao is now in Hollywood, California training at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym. He is preparing heavily because he does not want to get kayoed but an old boxer. No one knows how Mosley is training right now. They are very discreet even to the Showtimes crew members who produce the Fight Camp 360 reality series.

Pacman trains everyday and does not attend to calls if it’s not important. During the early days of their training in Hollywood, they are closing their doors to the public because they don’t want any distractions on Pacman and hinder him from becoming 100% coming into the fight.

Manny, a congressman in the Philippines, has a lot in mind now. He needs to attend to his people in Sarangani (a province in the Philippines) and he needs to prepare hard for his upcoming fight with the Pomona native. He is ready to spar 12 rounds with his “Mosley clones” so they can get the job right in the early rounds. Round by round they are discussing right and wrong to Pacquiao's attacks so Manny will be the first boxer to KO Mosley.

Mosley has had a wonderful career until Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright both stopped him twice. But Shane Mosley achieved a feat of being the only boxer who won against a young Oscar dela Hoya twice and he won his first 39 fights as a Professional Boxer, mostly by KO.

The Pacquiao vs Mosley fight will be on May 7 at the MGM Grand Arena in Sin City. Tickets are still available on this link. Book now to avoid rush buying.

Mosley to make good use of Pacquiao's weaknesses

Less than a month to go before the Pacquiao vs Mosley mega-fight will happen at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In a recent interview by Boxingscene.com on Sugar Shane, the Pomona native believes that he can exploit Pacquiao’s weaknesses when they fight on May 7.

Every day, Shane becomes more and more confident as the fight draws near. He is currently training in Big Bear, California with his Coach Naazim Richardson.

"We all have flaws, but are we able to capitalize on those flaws? With Pacquiao, he throws so many punches; he fights with so much fury. But I think I will be able to exploit them. I think it's my speed, the power, even my size, will make it easy to get to those spots." according to Mosley in his interview.

Manny Pacquiao is expected by many to win the fight. He has been on a 13-win streak and Mosley is no different from the recent fighters Manny faced in terms of power and speed.

Sugar Shane is an entertaining boxer because he throws a lot of punches just to get inside the defense of his opponent and throw his own flurry. Pacquiao also do the same thing, which is vert entertaining to watch for a boxing match. “We all know that Pacquiao has flaws”, said Mosley. He will capitalize on those errors and subject Manny to hard fight and possibly pull an upset and get the WBO Welterweight Belt.

Mosley, in most of his professional boxing career, has been fighting as a Welterweight and Lightweight and has won most of his fight in those divisions. He is 3-division champion and definitely knows how to fight in a championship match against a hard-hitting opponent. Shane is the only boxer to defeat Oscar dela Hoya twice.

Pacman’s weakest spot is his chin and mid-section based on his previous fights several years ago. If Pacquiao throws combinations, Shane Mosley will also throw his own leaving both of their defenses vulnerable to a KO punch. Mosley is a more accurate puncher compared to Antonio Margarito and he has the ring intelligence comparable to Manny. He loves to fight fire with fire. On May 7, let’s see if Shane can exploit the weaknesses of Pacquiao and win.

Pacquiao vs Mosley is promoted by Top Rank Promotions. Watch the online live streaming for $54.95 via Showtime pay-per-view.

Pacquiao seriously trains for the Mosley fight

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao recently ended his high-altitude training in Baguio, Philippines and then went to Hollywood, California to train at the Wild Card Gym owned by his celebrated trainer, Freddie Roach. It’s about a month to go before Manny takes on “Sugar” Shane Mosley, a native of Pomona, California who has been a 3-division world champion.

Pacquiao is not taking Sugar Shane lightly. He believes Mosley is very hungry to get a win because his last two fights were not impressive. Currently, Pacman is hailed as the number 1 boxer in the world, pound for pound, and many are expecting he will win. But on the contrary, Team Mosley believes they will be able to pull an upset on May 7.

The Pacquiao-Mosley fight is for the WBO (World Boxing Organization) Welterweight Belt, currently held by Manny. The fight will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Manny Pacquiao is now having a closed-door session with Freddie Roach, Alex Ariza and Buboy Fernandez. There are only several people close to Pacquiao who are allowed to get inside the Wild Card Gym as well as the crew of CBS / Showtime who are producing the Fight Camp 360 episodes. Those people who don't have any official business to Pacquiao are advised to stay out. This way they will be able to take Pacquiao out of distractions and focus on his upcoming Mosley fight.

Pacquiao is serious in training. He trains every day and works hard to improve his speed and power. He wants to be the first boxer to KO Mosley. He sometimes spar with Amir Khan, who is scheduled to be in the Khan vs McCloskey fight on April 16.

Shane Mosley, on the other hand, is also not taking Manny Pacquiao lightly. He now trains with Coach Naazim Richardson in Big Bear, California. Mosley’s training camp is all blood, sweat and tears just to get the limelight of the sport once again. Mosley is the only boxer who defeated Oscar dela Hoya twice and his first 30 or so fights in his professional career were all won impressively.

The Pacquiao vs Mosley fight is expected to be very entertaining in the first few rounds. Shane Mosley is predicted to tire in the later rounds because Pacquiao is just way too powerful and fast for him. Predictions from boxing enthusiasts are spread all over the internet and many continue to believe that Mosley has a very low possibility of winning the fight. The last boxer who has won against Pacquiao is Erik Morales, who will be in the Morales vs Maidana fight on April 9.

Mosley’s only way to win is by knocking Pacquiao out. But since Pacquiao is religiously serious in training and conditioning, Mosley’s power will not be enough.
